Swiss Army Knife

We have different friends,
different tools for different situations,
but still I’m sad to hear her say
she’d prefer Eva go with her to the clinic,
wait and drive her home after the emptying.
I thought myself a Swiss Army Knife friend,
good in every situation, but I know
sometimes you want someone’s hand, not a knife,
even with a corkscrew attachment
or a nail file.
